The Tecity* Group, founded by the late banker and philanthropist Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan, comprises a public-listed arm, Straits Trading Company Limited; an investment arm, Tecity Management; a philanthropic arm, Tan Chin Tuan Foundation (TCTF); and owns the Tan Chin Tuan Mansion, which is used as a "hub" for philanthropic activities, sharing business ideas and mutual learning.

The Group manages an active global investment portfolio with a philosophy centred on the principles of our Founder, and prides itself in being a responsible partner, stakeholder and desirable employer.

Management

 Ms Chew Gek Khim, Executive Chairman

As Executive Chairman and CEO of the Group, Ms Chew oversees the Group’s equity investments worldwide.  She has also been actively involved in the acquisition and management of the Group’s property investments, which include residential properties in Singapore as well as its commercial properties overseas. She is also Deputy Chairman of ARA Asset Management Limited, Chairman of ARA Trust Management (Suntec) Limited, and sits on the board of Singapore Exchange Limited.

Ms Chew is also the Deputy Chairman of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation in Singapore and the Chairman of the Tan Sri Tan Foundation in Malaysia, and Executive Chairman of Straits Trading Company.  Active in community and public service, Ms Chew is a Member of the Securities Industry Council of Singapore, the SSO Council and Board of Governors of S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. She was chairman of the National Environment Agency Board of Singapore from 2008 to 2015. Ms Chew was also previously a director of CapitaRetail China Trust Management Limited and board member of the Singapore Totalisator Board. Ms Chew was decorated by the French Embassy with the award called ‘Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Merite’ in October 2010; it means Knight of the National Order of Merit (of France), for her contribution to the community and culture.

A lawyer by training, Ms Chew graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1984 and practised law with the local law firm, Drew & Napier, before she joined the Tecity Group in 1987.


 Ms Chew Gek Hiang, Executive Director

As Executive Director and Head of Finance, Ms Chew is actively involved in the investment activities of the Tecity Group and is responsible for its securities trading portfolio.  She also oversees the human resource and administrative functions in the Tecity Group.

Ms Chew is Council Member of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation in Singapore and the Tan Sri Tan Foundation in Malaysia.  She is also President of Noah’s Ark CARES (Companion Animal Rescue and Education Society), a non-profit animal welfare society which champions responsible pet ownership and active sterilization and micro chipping of stray dogs and cats in Singapore and Johore.

Ms Chew graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1986.  She joined Ernst & Young (London) in 1987 to pursue her chartered accountancy and was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in October 1990.  She has been with the Tecity Group since 1991.


 Mr Chew Kwee San, Executive Director

Mr Chew has been with the Tecity Group since 1996. As Executive Director, he is responsible for the Treasury functions and oversees all investment operations of the Group.

He is also Council Member of the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation in Singapore and the Tan Sri tan Foundation in Malaysia since 1998, where he manages the philanthropic activities on a daily basis. He is also the President of the Young Men's Christian Association of Singapore, Vice Chairman of the Community Justice Centre, member of the Heritage Industry Incentive Program (Hi2P) Approval Committee of the National Heritage Board of Singapore, member of Investment Committee of the Boy's Brigade in Singapore.

An active volunteer, Mr Chew has been involved in the Anglo-Chinese School Old Boys' Association Management Committee, Organising Committee of The Boys' Brigade Sharity Gift Box (which was awarded the Singapore Youth Award for Community and Youth Services in 2004), and Citibank-YMCA Youth for Causes.

Mr Chew holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Nottingham University, England in 1993. He joined the Tecity Group shortly after he was called as an Advocate and Solicitor to the Bar – in England & Wales (1994) and in Singapore (1995) respectively.


 Mr David Goh, Chief Investment Officer & Chief Strategist

As Chief Investment officer and Chief Strategist, Mr Goh is responsible for providing strategic focus in the investment decision-making process, and assists the Executive Chairman in developing the Tecity Group’s long-term investment policy and asset allocation strategy.  He also oversees a team of investment managers and analysts within the Tecity Group.

Presently the non-executive chairman of Yeoman Capital Management Pte Ltd (an exempt fund manager), Mr Goh also serves as non-executive director of Pastamatrix International Pte Ltd, Stewardship Capital Pte Ltd, Stewardship Equity Pte Ltd and NPE Print Communications Pte Ltd.  In 1997, he was appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Finance at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Mr Goh holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Economics from York University, Canada; a Master of Science in Management (System Dynamics, Finance and Strategy) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management, as well as a CFA Charter.


 Mr Eric Teng, Advisor of Tecity Group & Tan Chin Tuan Foundation

Eric Teng who is marketing-trained became the first Chief Executive Officer of a family-linked philanthropic foundation in Singapore who is not a blood relation when he was appointed in 2006. In March 2009, Mr Teng was seconded to the Strait Trading Company Limited as Executive Vice President for Property. He was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (Property) of Straits Trading Company in 2010.

Prior to joining Tan Chin Tuan Foundation, he enjoyed a 20-year advertising and marketing career and held various leadership offices in both the local and Asian advertising bodies.

Active in the social service and charity sector for 25 years, Mr Teng’s many involvements included being a Board Member of National Council of Social Service from 1998-2006; the immediate Past President of the Young Men’s Christian Association of Singapore and has been an elected Board Member since 1985, as well as a board member of NVPC.

Eric was conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) by the Government in 2001 for his voluntary contribution to community service.
